Adaptive Hip Hop

What is Adaptive Hip Hop?

We are thrilled to be offering Adaptive Hip Hop as a weekly class this year. Taught by Charmin Wray, Adaptive Hip Hop is specifically designed for dancers who are ages 14 and up with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and those considered neurodivergent. Dancers will explore the fundamentals of Hip Hop and Jazz as they warm up, develop, explore, create, and cool down during this fun and upbeat class!

How can I determine if this class is right for my dancer?

At this time, we cannot accommodate behavior that is disruptive or aggressive towards oneself or others. Caregiver attendance with dancers is optional. Individual Education Plan, Emerging Social/Emotional, and ongoing Academic Goals can be incorporated into the dance curriculum. We invite all families who are interested to reach out to us with questions about this brand new class!

When will Adaptive Hip Hop be offered?

Adaptive Hip Hop will be offered on Saturdays from 11:30-12:15 PM during the 2023-2024 School Year Session. Dancers can enroll in the Fall Session (September 9th through December 16th) and the Spring Session (January 6th through 15th). Dancers enrolled in the spring session will have the option to perform in the Creation Dance Studio Spring Showcase!

How do I register?

Registration is now open. Please fill out the form below and create a CDS Portal Account. Once you have created your account, click on "Register for Classes", choose the Summer Classes tab, and select "Adaptive Hip Hop".

What is the Dress Code?

We recommend that dancers wear clothes that they can easily move in and are comfortable in, clean indoor tennis shoes, and have hair pulled back from the face.  Questions about the dress code? Please do not hesitate to reach out to us so that we can ensure that your dancer is comfortable.

Tuition Information

Each 45 minutes Adaptive Hip Hop class is $19. Tuition is posted and processed on the first business day of each month and is calculated based on how many actual class days there are in each month.
